I first traveled to Laos in 2003 and fell in love with the people and country. I visited each year after that and then from January 2006-September 2008 worked there. (see About Us) On my initial visit, I was impressed by the woven silks and sought out women weavers to learn about their traditional crafts. Excited to share these gorgeous colorful tribal textiles with you, I am importing them, along with other handmade goods. Handicrafts include silk scarves, shawls or wraps, bamboo & silk handbags, wallets & pouches, jewelery and home decor accessories like silk tapestries, cushion covers, cotton table cloths or throws and handmade paper mobiles. New wares from Cambodia include cartoon totes & wallets and bags made from recycled newspaper. Friends Int’l employs parents who can put their children into school, keeping them from begging in Phnom Penh. Adorn yourself or use the textiles for interior design. Consider the loom woven tapestries to accent an office space, restaurant or yoga centre, creating wall hangings, room dividers, curtains....or imagine.......be inspired!- Samadhi (owner of Asian Tribal Wares)
